NHORA of Santa Clara County joined forces with the Santa Clara County Housing Trust and the City of San Jose Housing department to launch a series of Homebuyer Education Seminars on Neighborhood Stabilization Program Funds and other down payment assistance opportunities.

The sold out event was held at National Hispanic University where dozens of prospective homebuyers gathered for the educational information. NHORA members attended a required orientation training in advance of the seminar. Members who participated in this special consumer seminar also have the opportunity to showcase listings that qualify for the twenty three million dollar grant awarded to the city and managed by the Housing Trust.

The event was so successful that NHORA agreed to work with the SCC Housing Trust to plan subsequent seminars. The next consumer education seminar will be scheduled for early 2011 and will continue until the stabilization grant has been exhausted.
